VSA Texas Presents the 2016 Mental Illness Awareness Week Art Show


San Antonio, TX September 6, 2016:  VSA Texas presents the 2016 MIAW Art Show, an exhibition celebrating Mental Illness Awareness Week in October at High Wire Art Gallery, located at 326 West Josephine, San Antonio, TX 78212.  The exhibit includes artwork by almost 20 artists with mental illness from the state of Texas.

The exhibition runs from

October 14-November 18, 2016

with an Opening Reception on Friday, October 14, 6:30-9:00 PM.

Join VSA Texas in celebrating the Nationally recognized Mental Illness Awareness Week and recognize the artistic accomplishments of local artists with mental illness at this thought provoking exhibition that includes ceramics, collage, painting, drawing, photography, and mixed media.

VSA Texas, the state organization on arts and disability, is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization that challenges perceptions of how people contribute by creating an arts-inspired, inclusive community of individuals with diverse abilities. VSA Texas is a member of the international network of VSA, an affiliate of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
